O'Reilly: American Idol's Kiss "Embarrassing" (PlanetOut)

April 10, 2009 - 8:41am
PlanetOut - Earlier this week, Bill O'Reilly dug up a weeks old "scandal" when he showed pictures of "American Idol" contestant Adam Lambert kissing another guy -- as if many people haven't yet seen these shots or that people will really care that he's gay instead of judging him on his talents as a singer. And why are they embarrassing? Because he's kissing a guy, who is apparently his boyfriend? Assanine. If it were a straight contestant, male or female, kissing a member of the opposite sex, this would be a non-issue. And keep in mind they're just kissing. Not naked. Not trying to screw a horse. Just kissing.

Anti-Gay Bullying Leads to Child's Suicide (PlanetOut)

April 10, 2009 - 2:45am
PlanetOut - What is our world coming to when an 11-year-old boy -- a child! -- hangs himself after being taunted by anti-gay rhetoric? Why are kids so cruel to push someone this far that he would take his own life? And why aren't the adults at schools paying better attention to harassment?

Can I Deduct that Kiss? (PlanetOut)

April 9, 2009 - 5:20pm
PlanetOut - If you're gay and live in the US you already know that you don't have the same rights as straight people. When it comes to gay marriage, the LGBT community has been relegated to second-class citizenship. Whether you believe in marriage is beside the point. You may be in a long-term committed relationship and be perfectly happy that your state or federal government doesn't recognize your union in the same way it does your straight neighbors'. Even if you're single, you may still not believe in the idea of marriage; plenty of straight couples don't want to enter into that legal union either. But at the end of the day, our government, which was formed on Christian beliefs, denies gay couples from enjoying the same benefits granted to straight couples, including tax benefits. Which brings us to Same Sex Kiss Day.
